The Beverly Improvement Association will welcome his Beverly Hills Community Neighborhood Party Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m. in the Christ-Roi parking lot, 9235 S. Hamilton Ave. Admission to the 21+ event is $15 and includes unlimited kids, beer, wine and soda. There is no charge for new neighbors. In case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled.

Blake Lamb Funeral Home4727 W. 103rd St. in Oak Lawn will host a “Paw-ty” Pet Blessing in honor of the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, Saturday, October 1, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Reverend Fred Pesek of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church will perform blessings. The event will include cartoon artists, pup mugs, refreshments and giveaways. Donations of five pound bags of food or blankets are appreciated. This event is limited to cats and dogs. All animals must be kept on a leash or in a transport cage and up to date with vaccinations. Retractable leashes are not permitted. Participants with pets must maintain an 8-foot distance from others.
