Liberia: Rep. Mensah provides 5 million Lrd for women empowerment


Mioma Briggs-Mensah, Bong County Electoral District #6 Representative, has provided Liberian Dollars Five Million (LD5M) to empower several women’s groups in Frelela, Salala District, Bong County.

She said empowering Liberian women should be a priority if Liberia’s socio-economic development is to move forward.

She presented the amount over the weekend to various women’s groups in Frelela, while dedicating six major projects to Frelela.

Rep Mensah noted that over the years the women of Frelela have not had a good market, but for the first time they have a decent market with parking for motorcycles, a charcoal station and a center. palm wine, among others.

She pointed out that these basic facilities are crucial for the daily activities of the people in the district.

She said the welfare of her people has been her top priority over the years and is undeterred by criticism.

She indicated that as an independent legislator in the district, she still maintains her independence in the pending general and presidential elections in 2023, rather than seeking a political party ticket.

Rep. Mensah stressed that the development of her district and its people should not be compromised for anything, adding that if Bong County is to be transformed in terms of development, district projects should be given priority at all times in the county. .

The dedication ceremony brought together residents of towns and villages, especially women and youth, who pledged their support for Rep. Mensah’s second term candidacy for her spirit of development.
