Groundbreaking ceremony for New Beginnings “Women’s Empowerment House” in Boston, MA


BOSTON, MA, April 28, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — New Beginnings Reentry Services, Inc., has officially opened the first residential “Women’s Empowerment House” dedicated to empowering and providing reentry services to women formerly incarcerated. The recently acquired Reentry House, an elegant five-bedroom, three-storey Victorian building will be the new home for 10 formerly incarcerated women who are at risk of homelessness upon release from prison.

The groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting ceremony which drew a crowd of community well-wishers took place on April 19, 2022. Stacey Borden, President and Founder of New Beginning Reentry Services, said, “We are thrilled to finally host this grand opening ceremony and to open our doors to provide evidence-based treatment and supervision programs for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women.

The ribbon cutting, which was performed by Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Ms. Stacey Borden, Senator Sonia Diaz, Rep Tyler Chyna, Rep Liz Miranda and City Council at the great Ruthzee Louijeune was witnessed by a tense audience composed of city officials, community leaders, citizen organizations, friends and family members.

In addition to transitional housing, the NBRS Women Empowerment House will provide a wide range of services including case management, employment preparation, trauma recovery, wellness, psychodrama and expressive therapy.
