Five-Star Class of 2024 striker Judge Carlton has cut her scouting down to 20 teams. Did Courtney Banghart and the UNC basketball program make the cut?
Judge Carlton is one of the most wanted recruits in the Class of 2024.
The Katy, Texas native is considered one of the top 25 prospects in her promotion. ESPNW has the 6-foot-2 forward ranked as the No. 21 prospect overall, making her the second-highest-rated player in Texas State.
With a lot of interest from college coaches across the country, Carlton narrowed its recruiting to 20 programs. This was good news for Courtney Banghart and the UNC basketball program because they are still in the game.
What the worlds have been waiting for…

Heading into his junior season, Carlton took the next step in his recruiting process. As she begins to shorten her list of potential suitors, her stock should continue to rise.
Along with competing in the AAU, Carlton has also gained experience through the 2021 U.S. Women’s U16 National Team. For more on Carlton’s game and overall skills, check out this breakdown, courtesy of Ohio Basketball Live:
Standing at 6’2, she creates mismatch issues for her opponents. She is an elite talent from a skill standpoint that translates into production on the pitch. She can easily catch and finish in the post around the basket. She has a natural sense of the game and does not force the outcome when the ball is in her hands. She understands how to keep the ball high and away from small defenders and can also rotate the baseline to avoid double teams. She is now able to catch and face the basket and constantly knock down shots, which makes it even harder to face off against her. Her greatest skill set may be her ability to play all positions at the high school level will only benefit her when she moves up to the next level.
She is as good on the defensive side of the floor as he is offensively. She plays extremely hard and takes pride in playing defense. It’s common to see her dive to the ground for loose balls and get a key defensive rebound in a crucial part of the game. She will simply do whatever is necessary for her team to win. She moves her feet well and doesn’t play or get stupid fouls. She protects the rim very well and uses her body well defensively.
Carlton is a player to watch as the UNC basketball program hopes she eventually makes it to Chapel Hill in the future.
