JAMMU, 6th May: The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party today advocated for the empowerment of women in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a membership program at the Party office in Gandhi Nagar, its chairman, Altaf Bukhari, welcomed several women who had joined the party and hoped that their membership would strengthen the Party. He assured that the Party will work to solve public problems.
The program was organized by female wing leaders Pavneet Kour, Rupali, Nisha and district women’s wing chairperson, Sarbjeet Kour.
Bukhari appreciated the women’s wing of the Party for working among the people and highlighting the problems of the people, especially women, for their redress.
He said the Apni party supports the social, political and economic upliftment of women by providing them with equal opportunities in education, employment, politics or entrepreneurship.
“If the Apni party forms the next J&K government, our goal will be development, improving the education system and health infrastructure,” Bukhari said.
He however criticized the Boundaries Commission report for ignoring the aspiration of the people despite the representation presented to it by the people of various constituencies. He said the Commission worked in a biased way.
Among those present on the occasion were Vijay Bakaya, Vikram Malhotra, Manjit Singh, Arun Chibber, Faqir Nath, Dr Rohit Gupta, BR Bhagat, Saleem Choudhary, Ajaz Kazmi, Madan Lal Chalotra, Ex-MLA Prem Lal, Pushap Dev Uppal, Hans Raj Dogra, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Abhay Bakaya, SK Chib, Vipul Bali, Raj Kumar and others.
